Hotel Lanai

The island of Lanai has three hotels; the opulent Four Seasons Resort Lanai, Four Seasons The Lodge at Koele (currently being renovated), and the charming Hotel Lanai.

Originally built in 1923 by James D. Dole, the pineapple pioneer, Hotel Lanai was the very first hotel on the island. Early 20th century travelers would come to stay at the cozy plantation style building. Today, the hotel delights guests with its historical wonder and modern day comfort. There are 10 guestrooms within the main building and a detached one-bedroom cottage located on the grounds.

The décor in the rooms at Hotel Lanai reflect early 20th century Hawaiiana, and feature beautiful Hawaiian quilts, artwork from Lanai artists, and hardwood flooring. Each room also offers a private bathroom with pedestal sinks, and mini refrigerator and freezer. The moderate year-round temperature means ceiling fans can replace air conditioning.

Centrally located in Lanai City, Hotel Lanai is adjacent to Dole Square, which is the heart of the city offering fun shopping for beach décor, clothing, souvenirs, and more. You’ll also find art galleries, a wide variety of delicious cuisine, movie theatre, and special island events taking place at Dole Square including a weekly Farmer’s market.

Located inside Hotel Lanai is the appealing restaurant, Lanai City Grille. Complimentary continental breakfast is served in the restaurant and it opens again for dinner five days a week. The restaurant offers a full bar, separate dining areas, and a fireplace. One of the most unique offerings on the menu is Angus Beef Sliders served with a flavorful bacon jam. The Daily Flat Bread of Lanai City Grille is a customer favorite, mainly because toppings change according to the chef’s inspiration!

The price is $89.99 per couple and includes an appetizer, two entrees, dessert, and a movie gift card.
